Privacy Policy

Covers Scrattle, Gem Buzz, Hexcape and Hexcoil. Effective date: to be set at launch.

Draft. This policy describes how our games are built to work at launch. It will be reviewed before the games are released, and this notice removed.

Summary

  • Our games have no accounts. We never ask for your name, email address or contacts.
  • Your progress and settings are saved on your device. We don't receive them.
  • The games show ads through Unity LevelPlay, which may collect device data such as your advertising identifier. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent first.
  • If you agree, we measure how the games are played with Unity Analytics, to tune difficulty and fix problems.
  • Purchases are handled by Apple or Google. We never see your payment details.

What is stored on your device

Each game saves your progress in a file on your device. We don't receive this file, and uninstalling the game deletes it.

GameWhat it saves
ScrattlePuzzles in progress and finished, solve times, your streak, stars, unlocked archive days, settings, and whether you bought Remove Ads.
Gem BuzzBest scores, unlocked boards, your gem collection, settings, and whether you bought Remove Ads.
HexcapeLevels completed and stars, daily puzzle progress, free hints, settings, and whether you bought Remove Ads.
HexcoilBest scores, Adventure stars, settings, and whether you bought Remove Ads.

Advertising

Our games show ads through Unity LevelPlay, an ad mediation service. LevelPlay works with ad networks such as Unity Ads and Google AdMob. To show ads, measure them and prevent fraud, LevelPlay and these networks may collect:

  • your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android);
  • your IP address, used to estimate your approximate location;
  • device and app information, such as model, operating system, language and app version;
  • how you interact with ads.

In the EEA, the UK, Switzerland and other places where the law requires it, we ask for your consent with Google's consent tool before ads are personalized. On iOS, we ask permission to track through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you say no, ads aren't personalized using your advertising identifier. In US states with privacy laws, you can opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your data for targeted advertising in each game's settings.

Videos that give you a reward are always optional. A one-time Remove Ads purchase turns off the other ads.

Read more in Unity's Game Player and App User Privacy Policy and Google's page on how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

Analytics

Only if you agree, we use Unity Analytics to record how our games are played: for example, levels or puzzles started and finished, scores and solve times, hints used, and whether optional videos were watched. These events come with device and app information and a random identifier for your installation of the game. They don't include your name or contact details.

We use this to tune difficulty, find levels that are too hard or too easy, and fix problems.

Purchases

Remove Ads is bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play, which process your payment under their own privacy policies. We receive only a confirmation that the purchase was made, so the game can turn ads off and restore the purchase if you reinstall.

Your choices

  • Ad consent and analytics: change your choice at any time in the game's Settings, under Privacy.
  • iOS tracking: in the Settings app, go to Privacy & Security, then Tracking.
  • Android advertising ID: reset or delete it in your device's Google settings, under Ads.
  • On-device data: uninstall the game to delete everything it saved.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data about you, to object to or restrict how it's used, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your local data protection authority.

We don't hold accounts or contact details, so the data about you sits mostly with our advertising and analytics partners, linked to your device's identifiers. Contact us and we'll help you make a request to them, or delete analytics data linked to your installation.

Children

Our games are made for players aged 13 and up and are not directed to children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or under the minimum age in your country. Our ad service is set up to treat players as not child-directed. If you believe a child has used one of our games and data was collected, contact us and we'll help remove it.

Data retention and transfers

On-device data stays until you uninstall the game. Analytics data is kept only as long as we need it to improve the games. Our partners may process data in countries other than yours, under their own safeguards.

Changes to this policy

If our games' data practices change, we'll update this page and the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll also tell you in the game.
